What is
Qi Gong (Chi Kung)

Qi Gong (Chi Kung) is a powerful energy healing
system that connects the body, mind and spirit. Some
believe it originated in China over 5000 years ago
and is the foundation of traditional Chinese medicine
(TCM). It was developed within the vast realm of TCM
and is responsible for a multitude of health benefits.
The word literally means “energy work” but the actual
practice is far deeper than its description. Qi Gong is
the art and science of cultivating and manipulating
one’s inner vital life force with the intentions of
healing. Practitioners can gain control of and direct
the healthy flow of their Qi, or life force, for self-
healing. There are thousands of Qi Gong systems
now in existence and it is practiced worldwide.

The practice of Qi Gong aims at balancing and
strengthening Qi in the human body. Qi Gong
promotes the free flow of energy throughout the body,
breaking down energy blockages within the
meridians, the invisible pathways through which Qi
flows. Under normal conditions, the energy in the
human body is a balanced state that is capable of
maintaining the physiological functions and can adjust
to changes in the environment. All the body’s
connections are based on Qi. Its myriad structures,
from organs to neurons, rely on continual
communications delivered by Qi. This force travels
with its inseparable companion, blood, to every area
of the body. If Qi in the human body is strong, then it
will be difficult for the pathogenic influences to
adversely affect it. Even if the pathogenic influences
do attack the body, the abundance of Qi increases
the immunity of the body and prevents disease from
occurring.

LAMAS Qigong (or “Dao Yin” Qi Gong) is a
comprehensive therapeutic exercise system that
combines physical movements, mental nurturing and
regulated breathing. It is designed to guide and
generate the free flow of energy Qi throughout the
body, maintaining the harmony of Yin and Yang, which
promotes health and a greater sense of well being. In
addition, LAMAS Qigong:
increases strength and energy, improves medical
conditions and hence, improves and prolongs the
quality of life.
Consists of slow gentle movements designed to
strengthen different internal organs and their

include building up the body's immune system and

Grandmaster Sikung Lowe is a Chinese descendant and has
been married for the last 40 years. In 1948, as an eager 6 year
old boy, he began absorbing the 3,000 year old ancestral family
knowledge of LAMAS Qi Gong. His first lessons were taught to
him by his father and grandfather; all of whom were Qi Gong
Grandmasters. He naturally felt the powerful effects derived from
the practice of Qi Gong—he grew and began to develop powerful
Qi healing skills through many years of daily practice.

Grandmaster Lowe has practiced a traditionally family-style Qi
Gong for 58 years. This style, until recently, had remained an
esoteric practice since the Han dynasty (1st century B.C.).

Grandmaster Lowe is a LAMAS Qi Gong Grandmaster—the
living lineage holder and principle founder of all LAMAS Qi Gong
associations across the world. He lives in Retford, England, but
continues to travel, teach and mentor many Qi Gong Masters and
Instructors throughout the World.  Grandmaster Lowe has a
superb command of the English language—his strength lies in
explaining the concept of Qi/Chi from a scientific perspective.
