San shou is a Tai Chi Chuan partner training form for practicing and understanding the applications of the various Tai Chi Chuan postures as played in the Yang Style Tai Chi Chuan Long Form.

 

Students should first learn & understand the "37 Postures" of Yang Tai Chi prior to learning this Tai Chi Chuan San shou (2-person) form.

First Half of Yang Tai Chi Long Form

This Yang Tai Chi Long Form was taught by my teacher Dr John Wan-Yuin Chang. This Form consist of 88 movements, covering all 37 postures of the Yang style Tai Chi Chuan long form.

 

Dr Chang's Form came from the lineage of Yang Cheng-fu's father, Yang Chien-hou . Yang Chien-hou (1839–1917), was the third son of the Yang style Tai Chi Chuan founder, Yang Lu-chan (1799-1872).

Note: Many postures are repeated several times to complete the 88 movement form.
