What is Tai Chi?

Tai Chi is a Mind / Body wellness art that follows natural movements and principles of nature.

The movements are slow & relaxed with focus, concentration, and breath.

 

Through daily practice of Tai Chi, one will learn and develop patience, calmness, relaxation, better balance, breathing better, focus, concentration, and overall, well-being.

 

Tai Chi is the most effective balance and coordination exercise in the world.

Tai Chi 8 Posture Form or 10 Posture Form was created in Bejing, China in1999. This form consist of 8 Postures of Yang Style Tai Chi Chuan plus the opening & Closing Postures. 

 

Tai Chi 8 Form is very popular for its simplicity and it requires little space to play or practice.

 

Opening Posture (3 Times)

Posture #1. Repulse The Monkey Right then Left;

Posture #2. Brush Knees, Left side, then Right side

Posture #3. Part the Wild Horses Mane, Left side then Right side

Posture #4. Wave Hands Like Clouds, circle Left; then right 

Posture #5. Golden Rooster Stands on One Leg, Left & Right

Posture #6. Cross hands and Heel kick, kick right, then kick left

Posture #7. Grasp The Bird's Tail: Ward-off, Rollback, Press, Push right side, then Left side 

Posture #8. Cross Hands & Closing form
